TBFS Presents In Our Solitude w/ Korey

A friend asked me for a poem

I nodded my assent

But the world laughed

Sighed and winked

It’s Orwellian eye

Our gifts are sorcery

Oftentimes prophetic

Between the lines and rhymes

Lies the tapestry of the waking world

Spellbinding came easy once

Though the world was no easier

Then as it is now

Confusion and exclusion

Reigns supreme

And many are blinded

Silent followers

Fearful that a choice

Will mark them

But we few spellbinders remain

Weaving words

Soothsaying

Revealing truths

They cannot burn the books

Faster than we can write new worlds

A friend asked me for a poem

I nodded my assent

So when it arrived

I opened a window

And let it fly.
